Having IVF abroad? Do your monitoring in Leeds
Lots of people from Leeds and across Yorkshire have treatment in Egypt, Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Turkey and elsewhere. Your clinic will usually want you there for egg collection and transfer, but the scans and bloods before that can often be done here. That means fewer flights and less time off work.
How it works
- Send us your clinic’s instructions. Forward the protocol or scan request by WhatsApp or email. It should say which days they want scans and bloods.
- Book your appointments. Tell us the dates and we’ll fit you in, including short-notice slots when your clinic needs a scan quickly.
- Scan and bloods on the same visit. The scan is internal (transvaginal) and we take any bloods while you’re here.
- Same-day report and results. We email everything to your clinic and to you the same day. Your clinic then tells you what to do next.

Every scan includes a written report with images. Every price includes sending results to your clinic.
What we do and what your clinic does
We do your scans and bloods and report the results. Your fertility clinic stays in charge of your treatment. They decide on medication doses, when to trigger and when you travel for egg collection. If anything on your scan needs urgent attention, we’ll tell you and contact your clinic.
If you feel unwell during treatment
Fertility drugs can sometimes cause ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). If you have severe tummy pain or swelling, feel sick or are being sick, are weeing much less than usual, or feel short of breath, contact your fertility clinic straight away. If it’s severe or you can’t reach them, call 111 or go to A&E.
Before you go abroad
The HFEA regulates fertility clinics in the UK but has no powers over clinics abroad. It suggests asking how your overseas clinic is regulated, how many embryos it usually transfers, and getting copies of your records for your GP. Read more on the HFEA treatment abroad page.

Can you do monitoring if my IVF clinic is abroad?
Yes. Send us your clinic’s protocol and we’ll book your scans and bloods on the days they need. We send the report and results to your clinic and to you the same day.
How quickly do I get my results?
Scan reports and monitoring blood results are both ready the same day, and we send them straight to your clinic.
Can I have my scan and bloods at the same appointment?
Yes. We can do both on one visit, so you only make one trip.
Do you offer a package price?
Yes. If you book all your monitoring scans and bloods for your cycle with us, we’ll give you a special package price. Send us your protocol for a quote.
Will my overseas clinic accept your scans?
Most clinics are happy to use local scans and bloods, but check with yours first. If they have their own reporting form, send it to us and we’ll fill it in.
Is the scan internal?
Yes. Follicle tracking is done with a transvaginal (internal) scan because it gives the clearest view of your ovaries. It’s usually quick and not painful, though it can feel a little uncomfortable.
Do I need a full bladder?
No. For an internal scan it’s better to have an empty bladder.
Can you change my medication if my follicles aren’t growing?
No. We report what we see and your fertility clinic decides what happens next.
